  • Mr A Corcoran NPQH BA QTS ( Hons)

    Head Teacher

I am delighted to have taken up post as your new Head Teacher and Co-Opted Governor from January 2017. Born and bred in Liverpool I have arrived at Castleway with over 20 years experience in education having worked in a wide variety of schools in the primary sector. A former Deputy Head Teacher and Acting Head Teacher in Knowsley & Liverpool local authorities, I most recently held the post of Head Teacher at a school in Windermere Cumbria. Having the opportunity to return to Merseyside to work with children and families I know so well is a pleasure and I will do my upmost to ensure you are supported and your children are afforded the best educational experiences possible. Outside of school life I am an avid Liverpool FC fan and have been a season ticket holder for over 35 years. I love golf, cricket and rugby league, reading, theatre and live music of all types. I regularly take in live shows and concerts and enjoy a good walk with my two dogs. Feel free to contact school through our team in the office if you would like to chat or have any queries. I am always available to listen!

TERM OF OFFICE: 13.03.15 - 13.04.19

"It is a pleasure to be a school governor at Castleway Primary School.

I represent the ward as Labour Councillor for Leasowe and Moreton East ward, part of the Wallasey constituency.

When, as a Governor, we listen to children read or observe them in a phonics lesson, it is lovely to see their progress and the effort that they and the teaching staff make.  It is lovely to attend whole school events.

It has been a delight to have met some of the parents at parent evenings,  when they take part in questionnaires or help out around the school".
